    Description

    Responsibilities

  • Participate in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end process.
  • Responsible for RGA Canada income tax process (current and deferred tax calculation, prepare the working paper file for the tax return and collaborate with the external tax expert for tax matters).
  • Responsible for IFRS 17 validations and journal entries
  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting presentations for the executive committee and the audit committee.
  • Review of various internal and external financial reports. For example: OSFI reports, AM Best annual report, income tax returns
  • Review of analyses and reconciliations prepared by the Jr Financial Analysts or the peers.
  • Prepare and review of journal entries prepared by the Jr Financial Analysts or the peers.
  • Participate in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and LDTI
  • Participate in the plan and budget process
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors
  • Work and collaborate on special projects

    • Requirements

    Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting
  • A professional designation (CPA)
  • Bilingualism essential (French and English). English is necessary because the candidate will have to work with people from multiple area (United States, Toronto)
  • At least 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of IFRS and LDTI
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Knowledge of People Soft, life insurance or life reinsurance, an asset
