    Description

    We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking construction manager to join our established and growing team in Toronto.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Supervising oversight and field services delivery works.
  • Supporting health and safety reviews of project delivery performance, aiming to improve the standards of health and safety across the project.
  • Working with the project controls centre and team to maintain up to date metrics on performance across the entire project.
  • Providing input into all phases of project management including design, construction, quality control, staffing and budget management.
  • Recommending and initiating change to project delivery plans, identify areas of improvement to put forward to relevant area in business and operating processes.
  • Supporting engagement with external relationships important for project delivery (e.g., statutory authorities).
  • Contributing to excellent working relationships with e.g., architects, M&E consultants, structural and civil engineers, building surveyors, structural surveyors, property consultants, planning consultants, contractors, cost consultants, and other specialists.
  • Building and maintaining networks with peer project teams and other disciplines.
  • Supporting the project teams with the cooperation and coordination of contractors while they are on site.
  • Playing a key supporting role in controlling, managing and coordinating the construction phase to delivers construction packages on schedule, budget and quality satisfaction and successful and safe delivery.
  • About You

    You have a degree in construction management, engineering, etc. You have extensive professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the project and construction delivery management with extensive subway experience. You have detailed understanding of construction methodology, innovative methods of delivery, technology, planning, delivery, site logistics, commercial and legal/contract issues. You have in-depth technical knowledge of temporary works, logistics planning and the majority of core construction packages from demolition through structures to finishes and close out. You have working knowledge of contract and commercial procedures. You have sound construction delivery expertise. You have good oral and written communication skills, clear and concise. You are abreast of key industry/professional trends through networking an CPD. You have working knowledge of different types of contracts. You understand data management. You are competent in office technology, software and applications. You have a proactive approach to engaging with the various site delivery teams. You must understand resource management, interface and constraints management. You have working knowledge of key performance indicator monitoring and engagement, directly linked to monthly measurement criteria established.
