    Summer Academy runs from July - 26, 2024
    The Bishop Strachan School campus heats up in July, and it's not just the weather.

    Summer Academy at BSS is an exceptional way for students to get ahead, catch up or explore something completely different.

    Summer Academy is open to any students from public and independent schools.
    We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced instructor to teach Grade 10 Science or Grade 11 Physics .

    The science experience at BSS fosters the process of scientific inquiry and encourages students to investigate, experiment, challenge, and debate in order to deepen their understanding of the world.

    Real world contexts are explored through a curriculum that incorporates interdisciplinary connections and project-based learning.

    Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the goals of our science program, emphasizing the integration of science with technology, society, and the environment.

    Foster a classroom environment that promotes scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    Incorporate hands-on experiments, interactive activities, and real-world examples to enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts.

    Provide guidance and support to students as they develop the skills, strategies, and habits of mind necessary for scientific exploration.

    Implement various assessment strategies to evaluate student progress and achievement, ensuring alignment with the overarching goals of the science program.

    Integrate diversity, equity, inclusiveness and belonging into the classroom learning environment
    Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate
    Intermediate and/or Senior Divisions
    Bachelor's degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
    knowledge of Brightspace an asset
    A demonstrated passion for innovation and creativity in education
