    Student Assistant - Social Media and Communications Coordinator Student Assistant - Social Media and Communications Coordinator

    Dr. Kurtis Boyer, JSGS Research Chair in Métis Governance and Policy, is hiring a social media-savvy and content creation expert to join his research team as a Social Media and Communications Coordinator.

    As a Student Assistant, the overall duties and responsibilities will encompass:

    • Regularly checking in to discuss and report on activities involving the chair, ensuring that all significant events and initiatives are communicated effectively to key audiences through engaging social media posts;
    • Crafting and scheduling posts across multiple social media platforms, aligning with the JSGS brand and strategic goals.
    • Leveraging social media to enhance engagement and community interaction.

    The Student Assistant will report to Dr. Boyer.

    Required Number of Hours : Casual, up to two hours per week
    Duration of Employment : May 13, 2024, to April 30, 2026

    Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)

    • Proven ability to communicate effectively with respect to significant events and initiatives through engaging social media posts
    • Proficient in crafting, scheduling, and managing content across multiple social media platforms;
    • Experience with Cascade CMS for web content updates and maintenance is highly desirable;
    • Strong background in outreach with the demonstrated capability to leverage social media to enhance engagement and community interaction; and
    • Experience in developing and executing outreach strategies to boost online presence and support organizational objectives.

    Students registered in the MPA or OMPA program at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public policy at the University of Saskatchewan and in good standing will be given first consideration.
