- Act as a liaison between the steering committee and site teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Actively identify and troubleshoot key issues that could hinder project implementation across sites.
- Coordinate patient engagement efforts, including collaborating with community patient partners, organizing engagement sessions, and incorporating patient feedback into project design and implementation.
- Lead communications and dissemination activities with the steering committee, including developing comprehensive strategies and coordinating presentations, publications, as well as online resources that are available for the public.
- Assist with training for each implementation / hospital site to ensure consistency in project implementation.
- Maintain updated internal records of project activities
- Prepare required narrative and financial reports for the project funder, the Ontario HIV Treatment Network, in conjunction with other project team members.
- Support site teams to prepare and implement a Quality Improvement protocol and ensure site team compliance.
- Facilitate data sharing agreements amongst sites.
- Design and implement data management plans to ensure confidentiality and security of research material and information.
- Work with the project Research Assistant to prepare and analyze data from all sites.
- Assist with the development of research protocol and grant applications for related lines of inquiry [ the integration of rapid HIV testing with rapid testing of other Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections (STBBI)].
- Contribute to publications, presentations, and knowledge translation products to disseminate results.
- Bachelor's degree, or recognized equivalent, in a health or science-related discipline is required.
- Holds recognized certification in clinical research (, ACRP or SOCRA).
- Master's degree or higher level training preferred in a health or science-related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant research experience
- Experience in project management and financial management in a research or healthcare setting.
- Proven experience in internal communications (within projects and groups) and external communications
- Proficiency in data management and analysis tools.

Position Summary
The GEM Centre Clinical Research Coordinator for FAST-HIV will serve as a lead team member for the Feasible, Accessible, Standard Testing for HIV in the Emergency Department (FAST-HIV) project. They will be responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of the project, including project management and coordination, research and evaluation, as well as internal and external communication. This role requires strong managerial, technical, and communication skills to ensure project success and stakeholder engagement.
The FAST-HIV project was implemented initially at UHN and will now be expanding to additional emergency departments across the GTA. The GEM Centre Clinical Research Coordinator for FAST-HIV will be responsible for working with various stakeholders including: the FAST-HIV Principal Investigators, the FAST-HIV Steering Committee, as well as FAST-HIV teams at each of the expansion sites.
The project is housed within the Centre for Global Equity in Emergency Medicine (the GEM Centre) at the University Health Network, University of Toronto. For more information about the GEM Centre, please visit
