    Description

    This position will report directly to the Manager of Health & Safety. The successful candidate will have a passion for health, safety, wellbeing, and share their knowledge with enthusiasm to an audience spanning from front line workers to senior executives.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare for, organize and conduct hands-on, participatory health and safety training sessions
  • Facilitate safety training modules, hands on demonstrations, verification and competency testing utilizing adult learning principles and best practices
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal health and safety training courses
  • Willingness to become certified to deliver additional safety courses as business needs require
  • Ensure that administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely matter, including training records, timesheets and expenses

    • Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years' experience working in the Health & Safety field
  • Knowledge of Provincial OHS Act and Regulations and Canada Labour Code
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an emphasis on quality and attention to detail reflected in your work
  • Certified Trainer for Mobile Powered Equipment, specifically Industrial Lift Trucks, Elevating Work Platforms, and Telehandlers is considered an asset
  • Certified Trainer for Workplace First Aid is considered an asset
  • Certified Trainer for Fall Protection and Confined Space is considered an asset
  • Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and other employee-related database systems is considered an asset

    • Working Conditions

  • Normal work hours are 07:30-16:30
  • May be required to train outside normal working hours
  • May at times be required to travel to locations for training
  • May be required to bring all required equipment to offsite training locations to conduct training
  • Working environments will be indoor and outdoor, in varying weather conditions
  • Working environments may vary from office training rooms to field offices or job sites; dictating dress requirements
