    About this role

    We are recruiting for an Estimator, Building Automation Controls to join our Burnaby office. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a critical role for the team, ensuring every project begins with proper, professional estimation. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

    This is a great opportunity for a Controls Estimator, DDC Technician, or Controls Foreman who wants to become an Estimator.

    Your responsibilities

    • Visit customer sites for estimate take offs to develop estimates
    • The Estimator will review specifications and provide accurate estimates for RFP and Design Build work.
    • Read engineering drawings (including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, plumbing IFCs/IFTs) and specifications and develop HVAC control system estimates
    • Select controls equipment and field devices to meet specifications
    • Provide accurate and detailed project budgets and estimates, including options or change orders
    • Remain up to date on estimating templates and all applicable labour, material, and equipment rates
    • Remain familiar with new products, solution versions, upgrades, and compatibility

    Your experience and skills

    • 3+ years of Building Automation Controls commercial solution/services industry experience required
    • Be familiar with integration of various systems such as chillers, boilers, metering, and lighting panels
    • Experience as a Building Automation Controls systems estimator, with experience using Accubid an asset
    • Reliable Controls and Schneider Electric EcoStruxure systems experience preferred
    • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree an asset
    • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
    • Must have excellent communication skills
    • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people
    • Class 5 Driver license

    Salary range: $80,000-$110,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will commensurate with experience, skills and overall match to the position offered. Let's chat throughout the hiring process and determine the best fit.

    Ideally, we are looking for an Estimator with at least 3 years' experience, working in Controls. However, we will consider applicants who have different skills and experience, which may result in a salary offered outside of the posted range.
