    To support us on our journey, Sinai Health is looking for a Nursing Clinical Manager. The role is exclusively located at our Mount Sinai Hospital campus.

    Position Summary:

    The Clinical Manager will be responsible for administrative coverage on nights, evenings and weekends. This coverage will include responsibility for: maintaining standards of nursing practice, patient relations, management of patient-flow/bed management, staffing issues, incident management and on-site administrative support in emergency /disaster situations.

    Responsibilities:

  • Supports and mentors staff nurses in critical thinking and decision making in clinical situations. This is achieved through a highly visible presence on the nursing units.
  • Provides administrative support to the Admitting Department on evenings/nights/weekends.
  • Co-ordinates inter-unit patient flow and access to beds as needed (ER admissions, closures, resolving issues between units, etc.).
  • Manages staffing issues (reassignment of staff, instituting bed closures, etc.)
  • Establishes, promotes and maintains good public relations and patient relations
  • Communicates effectively using appropriate lines within the organization.
  • Collaborates with the Nursing Unit Administrators, Program Directors, Nursing, Manager of Risk Management and Patient Relations Office to manage risk and patient complaints.
  • Assumes administrative on-site responsibilities within the IMS Framework.
  • Responsible for liaising and escalating situations to the Administrator On-Call.
  • Provides supervision and guidance in emergency situations (e.g. Code Yellow).
  • Job Requirements
  • Current CNO Certificate of Registration.
  • BScN required, Master's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Applicants should be available for at least one shift per week.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience.
  • Recent leadership experience and specialty certification an asset.
  • Membership in professional nursing and other related organizations.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and superior critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Computer skills in MS Office, Excel.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance history.
