CPC Movie Review: Absolute Power

MY BLURB: Being an avid reader of books in the political thriller genre, | am automatically a fan of David Baldacci who is right up there in the top tier. So when you have a movie directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, with a screenplay by William Gold- man, you honestly can’t go wrong. In Absolute Power, Clint plays what Dylan calls a High Degree Thief, robs one of the houses of a big time billionaire, who is supposed to be with his family in Barbados. But what he ends up getting involved in is a whole lot more than he bargained for. The real beauty of this film is in how Clint’s char- acter bobs and weaves his way through the whole thing, and actually manages to create some justice along the way. Clint Eastwood is what | call a bare-bones director. Everything is simple, clean and to the point, which keeps the story moving along and the drama build- ing nicely. This film was released in 1997, but it holds up surprisingly well some 25 years later. It's really a classic in its genre.
