KAREN PIRIE KAREN PIRIE 2 SPUDS on BritBox My sister decided to switch out from Crave TV, which pretty much sucks, to BrtBox, which 1s a lot smaller but hopefully doesn't suck as much The first series | chose to watch was Karen Pr ne a Scottish cop drama that takes place in Fife, which 1s a bit north of Edinburgh and stars a woman named Lauren Lyle, who apparently was in Outlander The series is based on books by a fairly famous writer named Val McDermid Like most Brit stuff, it’s set up in groups This senes had three in its first group, each about 90 minutes, that tells one complete story In this one we find that young Karen has been promoted (7) to solving cold case crimes and has to dig back more than 25 years to figure out what's what, so it Jumps back and forth in time, which 1s a ttle confusing at first, but interesting once you get the hang of it The story's pretty decent and the Karen Pine character 1s a bit of a nerd, but she has an endless cunosity and gets a great deal of both frustration and pleasure are she runs the investigation Lauren Lyle 1s a very small woman, and the men in the series all tower over her, but she manages to hold her own and | assume, as things go on she will gain the respect of all these tall men CHRONICLES RATING SYSTEM NO SPUD 4U -- SUCKS 1SPUD -- NOTHING SPECIAL 2'SPUDS -- WORTH WATCHING 3 SPUDS -- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Copynght 2022, MurMarketing.
