Canada

Canada has been in the news a lot lately. But it's been my experience, having lived and worked here for my entire life, that a lot of people don't know all that much about it. So here's some stuff you might not know.

SOME INTERESTING STUFFABOUT
CANADA, MY HOME AND NATIVE LAND.

This is for all everybody out there who thinks of
Canada as a bunch of hosers drinking coffee all day
at Tim Hortons and playing hockey all year round.

“Canada has asserted itself more prominently on the
international stage. At home, the country’s standard of
living ranks among the highest in the world; the World
Economic Forum's 2019 Global Competitiveness Index
ranked Canada among the top ten countries in terms of
labour market and financial system, and first in terms
of macroeconomic stability.

These strengths protect the Canadian economy from
declines in commodity prices and energy sector invest-
ment, though the country must continue to evolve in
the face of the Fourth Industrial Revolution - in order
to continue to provide the living standard its residents
have come to expect”

World Economic Forum

And, yes, the country is also quickly evolving into
one of the major players in the Internet and digital
technology world.

You should also know that a substantial num-
ber of the series and features you see, on the
networks and via many of the streamers, are shot
and finished in Canada. Toronto, Montreal and Van-
couver are major TV and film production centres.

So when a Canadian tells you he or she is proud
to be just that, there are lot of good reasons why.
