“When you wish upon a star Makes no difference who you are Anything your heart desires Will come to you.” What we're seeing play out in Florida these days is just one of the more visible forms of fascist extremism that has reared its ugly head in America these days. But Jiminy Cricket here has been on the record since 1940, when he sang the song ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ This is a song that was designed to unite people at a time when the whole world was in a state of chaos Today, Disney is in a battle with the same forces of evil that the country fought againsts 80 years ago when this song was first heard. Only the current scourge isn't wearing jackboots and swastikas, it's wearing a suit and trying to brainwash as many people as he can into making him president. But that might be a hard row to hoe for him and his maniacal right wing brain. Because the Cricket is putting up a fight over human rights. And the cricket is winning. Because the cricket has a real understanding of human nature and is trying to nurture it, while the leader of the scourge in Florida wants to turn humans into his minions and fill them with all the hated and prejudice that haunts his own soul. In the end, good always wins. Because in the end, human beings are more good than evil. And like Jiminy says, ‘makes no difference who you are.’
