OPERATION MINCEMEAT
3 SPUDS on NETFLIX
WIKI BLURB: In the context of WW2 narratives, the
story of Operation Mincemeat is unique a bizarre
and seductive cinematic blend of high-level espio-
nage and ingenious fiction, where the stakes could
hardly be higher. Michelle Ashford’s script fuses
multiple strands and moods: Two British intelli-
gence officers hatch an outlandish scheme to trick
the Nazis and alter the course of World War II.
Based on a true story of deception. Starring: Colin
Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald.

MY BLURB: If you're any sort of fan of the intelli-
gence side of things, then this movie should appeal
to you. It tells a great story of just how smart some
Brits are when it comes to deception and trying
things that a lot of people might thumb their
noses at.

As a movie, this one operates on a few
different levels, there's a pseudo romantic story, a
male rivalry story, and a powerful team story. All of
which creates a ton of nuance here that keeps the
movie from being one dimensional.

You don’t have to praise these actors at all here
because this is England, and that everybody is
great is a given.

Since this is a story about espionage, there's not
a lot of violence in it, because the job everybody
had was for their mission to succeed with minimum
of violence, bloodshed and death.

The beauty of the film is that the deception in it
is so outlandish that you are sucked into just to see
if they can actually pull it off.

A Sure Sign Of Spring

Jim Murray · Went outside this morning to do my walking and noticed that this was on my mailbox. These birds must have worked all night on this. Hope they got paid overtime. We think they're Robins. I carefully moved the nest to another location.

This isn’t a typical post for me… There are way more words than normal. It does show you the inside mind of an introvert – how I process things and come to the conclusions I do. This isn’t intended as a ‘how to’ post, but more of an op/ed piece as I ponder this exciting new platf ...

This isn’t a eulogy or a fond farewell. To me, it’s a type of Christmas Carol, without the usual ghosts, since my friend didn’t believe in ghosts. If they ever appeared, I’m sure he would have gone to his computer, wondering if he’d ordered Apparitions Past, Present and Future. · ...
