THE GRAY MAN
1.5 SPUDS on Netflix.

WIKI BLURB: The Gray Man is a 2022 American
action thriller film directed by Anthony and Joe
Russo, from a screenplay the latter co-wrote with
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, based
on the 2009 novel of the same name by Mark
Greaney.

MY TWO CENTS: | know that Nexflix, at least from
all the press I've read, is really counting on this
movie to get back some of the souls they lost over
the last couple of quarters, but, sadly, this movie is
nothing special all gussied up in a bunch of crazy
action sequences with some ‘save the little girl
who is very special to the hero’ stuff thrown in to
give it some humanity and a bit of a break from
the highly choreographed murder and mayhem.

Ryan Gosling is a pretty good action hero and
probably got paid a good buck to star in this film
and more power to him.

But honestly, this is just more formula crap
glorifying violence, and it really isn't about much
of anything.

I gave it 1.5 spuds because there are people |
know who like watching these kinds of movies to
see what the Russo Brothers did right and what
they didn’t.

What they did right was cast Ryan Gosling and
Billy Bob Thornton. What they did wrong was get
totally carried away with the uber violence, effects
and non-reality. But that's just my opinion.
