Not Your Typical Friday But I'll Take It.
Fridays, for me at least, are basically 'figure out next week' days. But this Friday is a little different. I'm off to Oakville for a meeting with a client to discuss something that's as rare as hen's teeth in this business, which is their upcoming (in 2018) 100th anniversary in business.
Mostly I will be listening, but I have a few ideas. Then afterward I will be joining my illustrious fellow Beezer, Don 🐝 Kerr for a coffee at, of all places, the Kerr Street Cafe, which, in a weird way makes sense.
This week was devoted pretty much to my partnerships. Charlene Norman and I have pretty much finalized out vision and going forward approach for Bullet Proof Consulting. And my other partner and brother from another mother, Charlene Norman, who has, of course had his thing turned slighty sideways by Hurricane Irma (on the very low end of damage, fortunately), and I are back to our old tricks with a new He Said He Said column, which we should finish over the weekend. It's entitled:
What Is the Sound of One Hand Clapping?
Join the Dynamic Duo On a Zen Search for Enlightenment about Social Media
There will be some things said in this that need to be said. But mostly it's just two opinionated writers having a chat about this rocket we all seem to be riding and asking some serious questions about its utlilIty.
Mellow? Who Me?
Another thing I did this week was get into a bit of a rant about a specific aspect of social media, with a post auspiciously titled: How Social Media Is Helping Turn The World To Shit
This was created primarily to dispel the notion that my move to beautiful St Catharines is softening me up a bit. While it is certainly doing a lot of good things for my chi, softening would not be considered one of them. So from time to time I have remind people of that.
Finally, I have created yet another cornerstone piece for our Bullet Proof site. This one is entitled: Stay Stuck in the Past or Prepare For The Future.
This basically lays out the Bullet Proof platform in terms hopefully will cause an 'aha moment' or two with the people we are trying to reach.
What pleased me the most about this was Charlene's comment after reading it. I have immense respect for this lady and consider myself lucky in the extreme to be in business with her. He business intuition is off the charts, and every time I sit down with here, I come always with at least three very big ideas.
"That is fucking brilliant. Just fucking awesome. You have captured every damn thing we want to do.Drive carefully puhlease. I can't afford to lose your brain. God I love you. And I love the pic you posted to on our FB business page. I am going to dance away now with my migraine and read this five more times at least."
I mean, where do you get affirmation like that these days?
So it's been a good week. Next week, hopefully the lads will be coming to dig up my back wall and properly insulate my basement. Because the rains are coming. And even though some people believe that it's a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese, I know it's not and am preparing accordingly.
Anyway, it's time for me to pack up my toys and head west for the day. Hope you all have a great weekend without any adverse climate change effects.
Also to round things out, a couple of pix from this week's bike riding.
