Research and Simulation, Operational LeadAcademic – School of Health & Public Safety /
The School of Health and Public Safety at SAIT prepares students for a dynamic career in the health care sector.
We offer specialized training in diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, professional assistant programs, information management, and training for wellness professionals. Our programs are hands on, with students and instructors immersed in living classrooms and simulated training.Research and Simulation Operational Lead , under the associate dean's direction, will lead the School of Health and Public Safety and faculty by advancing school priorities around research and simulation.
The role will be responsible for coordinating patient partner education and other training for faculty in support of this goal.
The lead will also work collaboratively with faculty to carry out research initiatives aligned to School priorities and of interest to the faculty.
Lead and coordinate the School's initiatives around advancing simulation and training as teamsCollaborate with faculty to review data around simulations to enable continuous quality improvement
Virtual simulations, Hyflex learning, AR/VR, etc
Support integration of training as teams (IPE, patient partners) through simulation
Collaborate with the Quality and Strategic Initiatives Supervisor to implement strategic initiatives across the school
Research Coordination - 45%
Lead and participate in research related to health education and the scholarship of teaching and learning
Act as contact/liaison for research opportunities in the School
Assist and advise researchers and/or research teams in the preparation and submission of research proposals and various funding applications
Assist and advise researchers and/or research teams in navigating internal application processes and policies. (participate in meetings among Research Teams and with potential partners to develop joint grant applications and research partnerships
Ensure the school is adhering to all policy and procedures around research, including data storage and security.
Maintain appropriate grants data and records
advise Research teams of upcoming reporting requirements, facilitate progress and final report submission, ensuring completion and appropriate documentation included
Create and maintain a research community of practice within HPS and liaise between leadership teams and the COP around opportunities and successes
Provide direction and supervision to research assistants
Develop and maintain patient partnership database
Demonstrate a commitment to patient and family centered care principles and practices in the educational facility.
Patient partnership planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting at all engagement levels throughout the School
Facilitate training/education of faculty on patient partnership tools and resources
Master's degree in healthcare field or education.
~Minimum 2 years of experience with research and simulation
~ Working knowledge of adult learning pedagogy and curriculum development principles
~ Strong communication ability:
written, digital and verbal
~ Computer skills in MS Office Suite of applications
~ Diploma in allied health or related healthcare field
~ Project management
~ Experience in planning and running simulations
~ Effectively manages deadlines and workloads
~ Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects
~ Driver's license
