Senior Planner Environmental Planning - Markham, ON, Canada - GEI Consultants Inc.
Description
A full-time senior environmental planner position with the Canada branch of GEI that will focus on the environmental approvals process for a range of industries, including land development, linear infrastructure and resource extraction, among others.
This position will involve leadership and management of projects including coordination and production of deliverables, coordinating fieldwork, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and project management duties including invoicing, budget and timeline tracking.
The ideal candidate will be located within an hour of project locations in Southern Ontario, based out of one of our 3 office locations:Manage consulting projects including budget and timeline tracking
Collate information from various sources, including communications with agencies and stakeholders, to design and implement field programs to assess Species at Risk (SAR), significant natural heritage features, and other environmental considerations
Work with other technical staff and project managers to develop natural heritage assessments, inventories and impact assessments, as well as to prepare technical correspondence, Endangered Species Act permitting and registrations, and project reports
Collaborate with other GEI disciplines to deliver multi-disciplinary projects
Degree(s) in biology, ecology, environmental science or related discipline
10+ years environmental consulting experience
Ability to interpret and critically assess information in terms of relevant legislation, policies and guidelines
Valid driver's license is required
