    Career Opportunity

Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Constructability Review Lead to join our team

    What You Will Do

As a Constructability Review Lead, you will be responsible for conducting constructability reviews of design documents and construction contract documents to identify issues and reduce construction costs, minimize the potential for delays and claims and to ensure the project can be physically built within the constraints of time, budget and other practical considerations. This involves performing various strategic, technical, and analytical reviews throughout the design and construction phases to ensure the successful execution of the construction projects/contracts. The contracts/projects assigned for such major reviews include transit and transit related facilities and infrastructure that vary in size up to over $1 Billion in construction value from the 10 year Capital budget. The Constructability Review Lead is required to remain current with best practices and trends within the transit construction industry, including various procurement delivery strategies.

You will be providing consultation and guidance to resolve complex constructability problems/issues in a timely and effective manner, compiling and provide review comments to the Senior Project Engineer or Deputy Construction Manager within the required timelines. You will be reviewing rebuttals and responses to review comments to ensure major unresolved issues (including items that have potential for claims) have been addressed prior to bid release.

You will be preparing sign-off documentation for review by the Construction Director/Deputy Construction Manager, participating in the review of processes and procedures related to constructability, and recommending changes based on experience and lessons learned.

You will be maintaining competency and awareness of current construction methodologies, environmental and safety regulations and industry best practices, working with representatives of other TTC departments (e.g. Engineering Department, Operations), Consultants and other 3rd Party stakeholders to accomplish assigned tasks. Moreover, you will be preparing written analyses, reports, and other related documents as required. You will develop presentations on construction related matters for the project team and senior management and adhere to all corporate, group, and departmental policies and standards.

As a TTC employee, you will be responsible for promoting a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. You will help to build an inclusive and accessible work and service environment for all employees and customers and ensure the needs of employees and customers are accommodated in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies.
