    We are seeking a Senior Disability Consultant to join our team in Winnipeg, Calgary or Ontario.

    As a Senior Disability Consultant, you will be at the forefront of managing projects for clients of all sizes across our partner firms and leverage your experience as a disability benefit and absence management expert to make recommendations on plan design and management on the full array of disability and benefit programs. You will position yourself to grow into a senior relationship management and/or leadership role by serving as the pivotal point on all projects and working alongside industry experts on cutting edge solutions. You will work closely with our Disability Specialists who provide effective support to client services & sales teams.

    The Senior Disability Consultant will:

  • Play a lead role in the design/management of group disability and time off plans for medium to large clients, including benefit plan analysis, design, cost savings and funding strategies
  • Incorporation of specialized health management, absence and disability management, audit results, data analytics and compliance strategies
  • Serve as lead project manager and day to day contact for clients on disability related needs; materially contribute to project plan creation
  • Ensure progress against established objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and quality standards
  • Proactively advise clients around service issues; develop and implement processes and policies to improve overall client delivery
  • Support Disability Specialists during peak periods and with escalations of client challenges with a focus on resolution and ongoing improvement of the client experience
  • To be successful as a Senior Disability Consultant with People Corporation, you will need:

  • 5+years' experience and success in the design/management of Corporate disability plans gained in a consulting or benefits environment; alternatively, similar experience in a consultative role gained at a carrier or vendor
  • Extensive Disability Management knowledge including understanding the adjudication process and contractual requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of group disability insurance, absence management and related products and services
  • Proven experience creating project plans and successfully leading teams in execution of the project against plan guidelines
  • Demonstrated success in managing client issues and relationships
  • Desire and ability to expand relationships with current clients
  • Flexibility and proven ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Maintain strong carrier/vendor relationships
  • Strong analytical, creative, presentation and integrative skills
  • All-star candidates will have:

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation, or Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) preferred
  • Experience in training/mentoring junior staff
  • Polished and well developed oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis
  • Bachelor's degree required, in a related field
