    Quality and Practice Coordinator - WIH NICU

    Monday to Friday, to the managerial nature of the position applicants must be flexible to work additional/varied hours as required.

    Are you seeking an opportunity where you can actively develop quality and patient safety initiatives? Our Women's and Infant's Health (WIH) program is seeking a qualified individual to support and promote patient safety within our NICU.

    Reporting to the Director Quality and Nursing Practice, you will also work with the frontline and medical leads, unit councils and interdisciplinary teams on quality and practice initiatives.

    With this position supporting the NICU, your work will involve determining best practices for the neonatal population, implementation of quality improvement projects such as development of a skincare bundle for extremely premature infant to improve outcomes.

    Be an active member in the Canadian Neonatal Network (CNN), and Evidence-based Practice for Improving Quality as a nursing lead for EPIQ

    The NICU is one of the largest neonatal units in Canada looking after the most vulnerable population. Infants starting at 22+0 weeks are cared for in this facility. and reports on outcome related to patient safety and quality practices.
    Identify, implement and monitor programs and activities related to quality, safety, risk and growth
    Support interdisciplinary quality reviews and investigations; Support quality leads which may include monitoring of completion and sustainability of all recommendations
    Assist with chart reviews as requested, including patient complaints and critical incidents
    Support the Academic Practice Strategy
    Monitor Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) best practices and Perinatal standards to make sure they are met
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

    Those who have taken a Quality Improvement and/or Patient Safety course/certificate and asset
    ~Experience in Level 2 and NICU nursery
    ~ Experience in Quality Improvement and Process improvement
    ~ MRP course is an asset

    FMEA, and CPSI incident analysis framework
    Knowledge of organizational structures and levers to achieve quality and patient safety outcomes
    Demonstrated leadership in improvement science, patient safety principles, systems thinking, patient and family centered care, and project management
