The Capital Projects Team in the Calgary Transit (CT) Transit Service Systems Division is responsible for the delivery of capital projects. Your work will play a significant role in successful completion and reporting of the projects. Reporting to the Leader, Infrastructure and Systems Performance, this position will be responsible for setting up, tracking, following-up and reporting on CT project-level budgets, commitments, costs and variances with Project Engineers/Managers, Team Leads / Coordinators, and the CT Senior Management Team. Respond to Audit, Finance and Tangible Capital Asset (TCA) inquiries regarding Calgary Transit and working with the CT Management Team to ensure that Project Cost Control delivers quality, value added service to CT Projects. Primary duties include:
  • Ensure that the administration parts of contracts are set up correctly. Manage all incoming invoices and update project budget/cost reports including tracking codes.
  • Active facilitation and execution of Project cost control initiatives at Calgary Transit including P2M.
  • Participate in the development and provision of effective cost control guidance and execution which contributes to the overall direction of the Business Unit.
  • Provide cost performance oversight for Calgary Transit's overall capital and Operating programs.
  • Invoice, gather, edit, consolidate, and transmit project related TCA data as required to support TCA.
    • Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year diploma in Project Control, Finance, Business or a related discipline and at least 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Previous experience working with budget processes and Tangible Capital Asset (TCA) reporting will be considered assets.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with PeopleSoft experience.
  • Well developed consulting and facilitation skills, business analysis and project management capabilities, flexible approaches to problem solving and the ability to work concurrently with collaborators are essential competencies for this position.
  • Success in this position requires strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
