    Description

    Our customer in Ottawa is offering a great 3-year contract position for a Data Centre Specialist.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Install hardware in local data centers in the National Capital Region.
    • Collaborate with Service Providers for non-local data centers.
    • Troubleshoot hardware installation issues under Senior guidance.
    • Address project and operational needs via trouble ticketing tool.
    • Set up network cabling (copper and fiber).
    • Maintain detailed documentation of all deployed IT assets and DCIM tool.
    • Replace faulty hardware components like RAM, Hard Drives, cables, power supplies, PDUs, etc.
    • Manage Return Merchandise Authorizations with manufacturers.
    • Verify third-party support work on-site aligns with agreed scope.
    • Travel occasionally to remote sites.
    • Participate in Canada On-Call rotation and provide overtime support when necessary.

    Required Qualifications & Skills:

    • Minimum of 5 years experience in server installation and power-up (Rack & Stack).
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in IT Operations and data center operations.
    • Experience with cabling infrastructure and maintaining documentation for new installations.
    • Understanding of data center facilities infrastructure like HVAC, UPS, etc.
    • Ability to coordinate third-party contractors for infrastructure projects and maintenance.
