The individual will work closely with the Vice President, Finance and other members of the executive team to provide financial support and analysis.
This is a pivotal role in the long-term success of the company.As an experienced and strategic leader, the Corporate Accountant will have full oversight of the finance and accounting functions while managing a strong team to deliver results.
AdvantagesReporting to the Senior Director of Finance, the Corporate Accountant is a key member of the Finance leadership team, overseeing all aspects of financial accounting and external reporting.
-●Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations-●Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
-●Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
-●Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, providing insights and recommendations to management to improve financial results
-●Manage the preparation and maintenance of the annual budget, including working with department heads to develop accurate revenue and expense projections
-●Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and revenue growth
-●Supervise the accounting team, including coaching and mentoring staff, providing guidance and support on complex accounting issues, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities
-●Assist with the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, processes, and controls
-●Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management
-●Bachelor degree in finance or accounting with a CPA designation considered an asset
-●Strong public company experience with IFRS reporting experience considered an asset
-●Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from financial data
-●Exceptional communication in French and English and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
-●Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure, ever changing environment
