Director, Engine Production (Aircraft Manufacturing/Maintenance), Delta BC
We are looking for a Director of Engine Production to join our Delta-based client in the avionics/aircraft engineering and maintenance industry. The role will be responsible for the management and administration of all engine production process relevant tasks. In addition to guiding and supporting employees in the department, the Director's role is to provide expertise in supporting department and company goal achievement and to recommend and implement process improvements. The ideal candidate will have at least six (6) years or more work and leadership experience in the production and/or manufacturing industry, preferably in working with aircraft engines.
Qualifications: Bachelor-level degree in Business or Engineering6+ years of experience in Operations or Engineering in a production or maintenance environment
Advanced knowledge of aero engines and its characteristics and specifics
Advanced knowledge of aviation specific requirements in respect to Engineering, Quality, Operations
Strong leadership experience including experience leading teams in a unionized environment
Ability to establish a trusting relationship with direct reports and employee base.
Ability to think strategically and implement results
Strong drive towards continuous improvement and related initiatives
Committed to the growth and development of employees
Advanced knowledge of SAP production specific functions/transactions
Advanced knowledge of ECMS or similar software in maintenance, repair and overhaul production
Fluent English, German-language skills are an asset
General duties: Manage and coordinate the activities of the Production Centre to accomplish the goals identified for the department
Coordinate the operations production activities with business strategies in order to improve overall achievement
Coordinate the technical and procedural standards for test, repair and overhaul of engines
Maintain budget for department
Set, monitor and report to the COO the KPIs for the department; align department KPIs with goals & objectives on corporate and division level
Ensure audit awareness and compliance are to the appropriate aviation and company standards
Communicate and work with other managers to streamline the Production department's efforts with other areas, both as an internal customer and vendor
Coordinate training of employees, both unionized and salary, to ensure multi-tasking is optimized to maintain a high level of proficiency and adherence to the Canadian Ministry of Transport Airworthiness Standards Operational duties: Coordinate, coach, monitor, supervise, and direct employees in functional work area on a daily basis to achieve goals and targets in meeting internal and external customer expectations
Ensure that maintenance processes are carried out per manual requirements of internal specifications
Co-ordinate the procurement, preparation, standardization, service and maintenance of all tools, machines and equipment across all departments
Ensures all products delivered are in accordance with approved and established standards and of the required quality and are within the cost guidelines to ensure profitability
Investigate, analyze and document damages including the root cause analysis and control of any corrective measures necessary Strategic duties: Develop and implement the organization's engine production strategy and aligning the strategy with the company's vision, values and organizational strategy
Research and develop engine production programs, policies, procedures and practices that are consistent with the safe, reliable and efficient repair and overhaul of aircraft engines and components
Develop effective business cases for capital expansion and ensure they are economically justified
Implement process improvements, preventative and corrective measures as required
Leading and active role within the Operation across location network collaboration activities
