    Job description and requirements

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the electrical and mechanical teams and understand the challenges of day to day maintenance and coordination of a printing facility
  • Develop daily management systems to ensure focus on critical issues, follow-up of root cause to ensure equipment reliability
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Responsible for the procurement of necessary materials for department
  • Actively supervises the performance of the team and provide coaching as required
  • Ensure the team have the required resources (tools and materials) to safely complete their work in compliance with regulatory and maintenance standards consistent with expectations of the business
  • Provide direction, leadership and expertise to team
  • Manage any anomalies relating to schedule or payroll
  • Communicate, follow train and enforce policies and procedures (ie: LOTO, Health and Safety Safe Practices, Safestart, etc.)
  • Ensure plant systems follow a maintenance schedule and coordinate outside contractor support as required
  • Lead the weekly Maintenance meeting and hold regular toolbox meetings with team
  • Complete individual employee review process
  • Report on work orders issued, open, delayed and closed
  • Work closely with the Production and Management Teams
  • Adhere to 5S workplace organization standards
    • Required QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of a post secondary Electrician, Millwright or Machinist Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal) OR Electrical orMechanical Engineer Technical Degree
  • Has "hands on" production support/maintenance experience which can be applied to leading others on a daily basis
  • Experience with Interal work/ PM schedule and Inventory system is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role, including successfully directing a team
  • Knowledge of safety procedures/policies i.e. lockout/tagout procedures
  • Knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, delegate, control and provide effective leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with different departments within the organization
  • Trouble shooting equipment and problem solving skills are essential
