The Director, Distribution & Kitting Operations is fully responsible for the warehouse and kitting operations within their region of responsibility.
The main objectives are to provide clear leadership and strategic direction to the regional teams, create a reputation of excellence and ensure a "Best in Class" organization is created and maintained through implementing solutions to further develop, drive and improve customer satisfaction / experience, manage and reduce costs, enhance and develop processes, and support the creation and optimization of and end-to-end supply chain.
This role will promote teamwork and collaboration, quality performance standards, professionalism, and integrity to ensure that results are delivered in accordance with the strategic plans, objectives, and customers' contractual agreements.
S et the direction for the warehouse, kitting, and distribution teams of the region of responsibility to ensure organizational readiness and alignment with customer needs and delivery capability for the required service levels.
Ensure strategic planning of the warehousing, kitting, and distribution teams within area of responsibility align with the overall vision of the Region, the Global Logistics & Operations organization, and Stryker's mission and company-wide objectives and initiatives.
Partner in the development, modification and improvement of the overall Stryker distribution network, the regional physical footprint, procedures, policies, processes, and the development of new services to increase external and internal customer satisfaction and lower overall costs.
Partner in the development and continued management of current and future 3PL activities to drive improved service at reduced cost while meeting Stryker's requirements for quality and sustainability compliance.
Ensure all Warehouse and Kitting operational activities within area of responsibility are in line with the applicable Medical Device Directives, applicable ISO standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, FCPA, Trade Compliance, VAT, Health & Safety, and any other local & international laws, rules & regulations.
Communicating and training on company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ensuring company policy and GMP compliance by team membersLead and oversee all activities related to the regional Warehouse & Kitroom Operations budget and headcount plan, including budget, projection, and strategic planning and long-and short-term resource capacity planning.
Establishes and enforces programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and adherence to all regional, national, and local statutes.
Ensure compliance with global, regional, and local regulations regarding health & safety, regulatory and hazardous materials, as well as internal policies and procedures.
Drives a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and performance throughout the organization of responsibility.Identifies best practices and trends in the marketplace, leading to the implementation of innovative ideas that drive progress and continuous improvement.
Routinely evaluate Voice of Customer to ensure distribution processes meet internal and external Customer needs.Influences the development of systems and procedures for operating and managing physical facilities, human capital, equipment, and products in a compliant and profitable manner.
Ensure Business Continuity Plans are in place for warehouse, kitting, and distribution operations within region of responsibility to avoid any supply disruptions and to ensure continuity of services to external & internal customers (e.g., fire, natural disasters, etc.).
Taking accountability / direct involvement, following up and solving significant or structural disruptions in the distribution network within area of responsibilityPerforms annual GMP training for both drugs and natural health products in order to implement regulatory requirements and follow best practices for the importation, storage and distribution of these classes of healthcare products within the region.
Ensure all activities are appropriately covered from an insurance and risk management perspective.Provide required support and input in Mergers & Acquisition and business integration projects if needed.
Strategic oversight for implementing effective performance evaluations and for recommending the appropriate talent development strategy.
Promote and support a culture of engagement and continuous improvement within applicable LRD Operations that results in increased performance, cost savings, safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
Responsible for building leadership competencies with direct reports and team leaders to ensure that they are engaging employees to exceed their targets in safety, quality, service, and cost.
Oversee the physical handling, storage, transportation, and inventory control of all products transacted through the region of responsibility are in line with the divisional, corporate operational and strategic objectives while delivering on the required customer service levels and operating in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
Ensure "Right Product, in the Right Quantity, with the Right Quality, at the Right Place, at the Right Time".
Maintain appropriate and agreed upon KPI's to measure the performance and enable improvement programs.Manage a system of controls to ensure that quality, service levels, freight and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost parameters and meet or exceed divisional and customer needs.
Support reporting and periodic highlights on all key metrics related to service levels, total costs, freight costs, trade compliance etc.
Collaboration with division, Customer Service, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) to develop fulfilment models to meet short- and long-term business goals and to ensure the proper communication and understanding of and adherence to customers' needs.
Abide by and support the policies set forth in the Stryker Code of Conduct (compliance is a condition of employment with Stryker).
Report any violations of these policies and procedures to Stryker management or in the manner outlined in Stryker's Ethics Hotline Policy.
