    Description

    With offices in Australia, Canada, Africa and the Philippines, Lycopodium proudly delivers high quality professional engineering and project delivery services globally, across the resources, infrastructure and industrial processes sectors.

    Reporting to the Principle Designer the Lead Designer will be producing high quality, cost effective, detail 3D designs and general arrangement drawings.

    The designer will, in general, work under the supervision of the Principal Designer, Lead Discipline Design Engineer or the Project Lead Engineer.

    Be proficient in all aspects of 3D MicroStation software (and preferably OBD) and to use those skills within the Lycopodium defined CAD procedures.

    Be proficient in the layout and detailing of materials handling and mine plant design in their nominated discipline.

    Produce design drawings that are consistent industry standard techniques and that comply to Lycopodium drawing office and CAD procedures.

    Be capable of producing design drawings within the project defined budget hours for the defined deliverable document.
    Demonstrate a sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques.
    Check design drawings as required.
    Proficiency in Bentley 3D Microstation software.

    An approved diploma qualification in Engineering Design Drafting of their discipline or directly related industry experience of 15 years.

    Ability to consistently provide designs and solutions within agreed milestone dates and to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.

    Ability to manage drafting team and achieve budget manhours and milestone deliverable dates.
    Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge for mineral processing designs and technologies in various commodities.

    Demonstrate a high level of technical ability within the field of expertise and a broad understanding and knowledge base in the minerals processing engineering field.

    Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint.
    Demonstrated skills with the use of specific proprietary software packages relevant to the Engineering discipline.
    Excellent command of the English language and report writing skills.
    Strong interpersonal skills and a practical approach to design problems.
