    A Senior Financial Analyst with our Finance Department in Toronto will primarily require working on general ledger accounting, month and quarter end closings and reporting.

    They will assist the Financial Controller in compiling information for internal, external, tax and regulatory audits. This is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days per week expected in-person or as required as per business needs at 200 Bay Street in Toronto Responsibilities
    General ledger accounting, month and quarter end closings and related reporting

    Keeping necessary audit trials and supports, and support the Controller in compiling information for internal, external, tax and regulatory audits.

    Prepare timely Bank and account reconciliations.
    Assist with completing various insurance tax returns, installment planning and deliverables for tax returns.
    Review AP and other expense invoices and recommend proper coding.
    To prepare IFRS 17 journal entries, reconciliations and support the Controller for regulatory filing preparations.
    To perform analysis on complex accounting issues and assist with ad hoc audit requests.
    Identify and implement solutions which improve efficiency and effectiveness through the elimination, simplification, and automation of processes.
    Participate in special projects as required.
    University degree with a focus in finance or accounting
    ~ Experience in ERP systems is an asset.
    ~ Accounting designation or working towards one is desirable.
    ~ Minimum of 3 years' experience working at a financial services organization in the areas of financial accounting/reporting/audit or as an audit associate in a mid to large size accounting firm
    ~ Excellent understanding of accounting concepts and cycles
    ~ Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within Finance as well as the client groups supported.
    ~ Understanding insurance accounting concepts is a definite asset.
