- Must have Current General Class (Practicing) Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Must have current BLS Certification
- Recent experience in either Labour & Birth, Postpartum or Gynaecology and/or successful completion of an Obstetrics/Perinatal Nursing Certificate. Candidates with no experience or Nursing Certificate may be considered if they have completed any of the courses below and there are no other qualified applicants.
- Obstetrics/Perinatal Nursing Certificate or willingness to complete within 3 years
- Neonatal Resuscitation certificate required or willingness to complete within 6 months
- Electronic fetal monitoring certification or willingness to complete within 6 months
- RNAO Breastfeeding e-learning module and/or breastfeeding certificate required or willingness to complete within 6 months.
- Venipuncture skills required
- Ability to work collaboratively with other professions / disciplines in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven planning, time management, organization and coordination skills

Registered Nurse Labour & Delivery / Post-Partum / Gynecology (Job ID: 1320)
The cross-trained Registered Nurse works in both labour and delivery and obstetrics and gynecology units at the St. Michael's Hospital. The RN works within a changing environment and in interprofessional teams to advocate for and promote wellness while ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and ethical nursing care. The RN shares their knowledge and expertise with others and contributes to the advancement of nursing practice excellence. The RN continually enhances his/her practice and competencies through ongoing learning, education, experience and reflective practice. The successful candidate will be expected to work in both Labour and OB/Gyne and will possess or be expected to attain the skills and competency to function proficiently in both clinical areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
