    Description

    Position: Class 1 Highway Driver
    Type: Full Time

    We are seeking experienced Class 1 Drivers/Lease Operators with van and flat deck experience to do highway work within Western Canada (mainly Alberta).

    Key Accountabilities: Operate tractor-trailer (van and flat deck) to transport goods and materials within Western Canada.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Class 1 Driver's License required with clean abstract
  • Unit that is compliant with Alberta CVIP requirements
  • Must be willing to work away from home for periods of time (usually no more than three nights at a time)
  • Must have minimum of one year Class 1 driving experience hauling flat deck freight

    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Class 1 driver's license
  • Must have thorough knowledge and experience with van and flat deck load securement legislated requirements
  • Ability to complete thorough pre and post trip inspections
  • Able to receive and relay information to dispatch
  • Ability to read/react to road conditions
  • Manual dexterity
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
  • Demonstrated organizational skills: strong oral and written communication abilities, task prioritization, use of timelines and time management techniques
  • Professional/mature demeanour under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed

    • Working Conditions:

  • Will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Will be required to be away from home for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to stay in a bunk truck unit while working away from home
