    Position Overview

    The City of Kamloops has an exciting opportunity for a permanent, seasonal Natural Resources Technician I to join our Parks team Are you passionate about Nature Parks, working in the outdoors and educating residents on the unique and sensitive ecosystem that is the City of Kamloops? If so, working in Parks as a Natural Resources Technician I may be a great fit for you

    The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

    1. Completion of one year of post-secondary education in natural resources, forestry, or a related discipline.
    2. Minimum six months' previous experience in park operations and regulations, including the operation and maintenance of parks equipment and machinery, landscaping, and general park maintenance related to natural space park settings.
    3. Ability to obtain Pesticide Applicator Certificate - General Landscaping within four (4) months.
    4. Valid Level One First Aid or equivalent.
    5. Valid BC Driver's License - Class 5.

    For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position. This is a permanent, seasonal position from approximately April to October each year.
