- Responsible for brewing and brewing maintenance operations by providing specialized technical expertise
- Accountable for leading improvement initiatives related to Brewing departmental Key Performance Indicators to ensure that targets are met
- Identify and implement opportunities as dictated by process data to improve productivity, reduce cost, or improve quality
- Conduct and assist in quality testing and assessments to ensure compliance with standards
- Ability to understand financial drivers for assigned area and initiate processes to control costs
- Provide guidance and support to the brewery network, brewing personnel and department heads
- Provide creative troubleshooting/problem solving ideas to assist with brewery issues and develop new processes
- Provide specialized technical support to assure Consumer quality expectations are met (beer freshness indicators, consumer complaint reduction, packaging quality, etc.)
- Recommend opportunities for process optimization using root cause analysis tools
- Monitor supplier raw technical performance and material loss
- Support the engineering group in Capital projects related to the department
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science is required
- 2+ years of experience in industrial setting
- Associate Membership Exam from the Institute and Guild of Brewing (or equivalent) is an asset
- Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills and team orientation
- Strong computer skills
- Technical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to extract, evaluate and utilize data for process improvement from applicable systems
- Results oriented with ability to provide strategic direction
- Understanding of the complete brewing process with state of the art knowledge of specific areas of expertise
- Strong knowledge of quality, environment and safety standards and regulations
- Industrial relations experience in a unionized environment considered an asset
