    Accounting:

    Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries/weekly check runs/monthly accruals and special projects for portfolio companies within Vard Marine group of companies.

    Processing of employee and management of staff expense claims in accordance with regulations, policies, practices, and procedures.
    Responsible for the processing and accounting of the corporate credit card transactions.
    Daily review of bank transactions into the general ledger, across bank accounts and reconciliations kept up to date.
    Entering, revising, sorting, calculating and creating tables for analysis, account reconciliations, year-end working papers, control accounts, etc.
    Perform all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with company policy and procedures.

    Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.

    Back-up to the finance team member for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and consolidations for group reporting, while ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met.

    Work with the finance team on the formulation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
    Other related accounting and administrative duties as required or assigned by the Financial Controller.


    Payroll:
    Verification of staff timesheets on a weekly basis and preparation for semi-monthly payroll processing.
    Process semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees using ADP Workforce Now.
    Prepare ROE, WCB, EHT, RRSP payments and other payroll remittance and reporting within legislated timelines as required.
    Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
    Take and handle all inquiries arising from questions about payroll
    Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
    Assist in continuous improvement activities, from idea-generating to implementations.
    Undergraduate Degree - Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting Major.
    Between 3-6 Years' experience in finance and accounting.
    Minimum 2 Years experience in payroll.
    Experience in an engineering firm or professional services industry is an asset.
    Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding payroll is an asset.
    Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.

    Competitive Salary Range :
    CA $32 - $35 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications, as outlined in the job description/posting.
