    Description

    Senior Underwriter, Property Construction

    Starr Technical Risks Canada Inc. is looking for an experienced technical property underwriter for the Senior Underwriter, Property Construction role to support the expansion of Starr's builder's risk book of business.

    • Solicit and evaluate new and renewal property submissions from various sources
    • Review and authorize terms and conditions for new and renewed business, endorsements, and policy amendments
    • Prepare insurance details for binders and reinsurance layoff sheets
    • Establish or review policy forms for all new and renewed policies
    • Review final bound policy terms before dispatching to broker/client
    • Generate Home Office reports upon request

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years of commercial property underwriting experience
    • Specialization in Builder's Risk and large commercial property underwriting
    • Technical property underwriting experience in sectors like Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Heavy Industrial, and Infrastructure
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Insurance designation or certificate is a plus
    • Proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations

    The role offers an annual discretionary bonus besides the base salary, based on individual and company performance.
