    Your role

    Join our team as an Occupational Health & Safety Manager.

    In this role, you'll lead the ongoing implementation of the established ISO45001:2018 certified Health & Safety Management System at Colliers Project Leaders. You will be responsible for managing and enforcing company safety policies and ensuring compliance with ISO 45001:2018 requirements, all applicable provincial and territorial regulations, and COR requirements in several provinces.

    This is a fully remote opportunity. We are open to applicants from all locations across Canada.

    Responsibilities

  • The implementation of the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) including review of safety policies and procedures, ensuring safe working conditions for all employees and compliance to corporate policies and all applicable laws and regulations across Colliers Project Leaders
  • Ongoing maintenance, evaluation and continuous improvement of the HSMS for continued effectiveness
  • Ensuring the HSMS conforms to the ISO 45001:2018 standard as well as COR, Codes of Practice, and appropriate legislation
  • Regularly monitoring compliance to all provincial and territorial OHS regulations, license requirements, codes and standards, ensuring the program is updated as required
  • Conduct and ensure that all required internal audits are regularly occurring to ensure compliance and conformance to applicable standards
  • Provide H&S advice and consultation to employees, project teams, including the Construction Solutions team that may encounter H&S issues on their projects, including acting as primary H&S Contact
  • Developing a positive company safety culture working with all levels of staff and management and Colliers Project Leaders locations across Canada
  • Providing guidance and oversight on incident investigations and trend analysis for incidents including the identification of corrective actions
  • Oversight of JHS Committees across all Canadian locations including maintaining schedules and membership and ensuring documentation is completed as required and all JHSC members are trained according to local legislation
  • Developing a communication plan to effectively distribute health and safety information and maintaining and reporting from the H&S software
  • Act as liaison with Regulatory authorities, WCB, WSIB, as required
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight to 10 years' experience including administration and management of an Employee Health and Safety program
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in OHS Manager role or similar
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of Provincial and Territorial Occupational, Health & Safety legislation
  • Prior or existing JHSC certification and committee experience as a member or advisor
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Lead Auditor ISO 45001:2018 OH&S Management Systems
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent H&S-related designation is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships across geographies
  • The ability to accommodate travel as required
  • Advanced proficiency with full Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience or knowledge of WCB legislation and claims management.
  • Approximate Base Salary Range for Role: $130,000 CAD to $170,000 CAD.

    Base Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
