Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Quality Manager coordinates the facility's activities required to meet or exceed quality standards such as CAP or ISO 15189 to maintain laboratory accreditation. Quality assurance (QA) aims to ensure that service provided by CPL is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and patient safety.
A certified practicing laboratory technologist, thorough and current knowledge of all technical and theoretical aspects of clinical laboratories, as well as good comprehensive knowledge of quality management theory, particularly as it applies to a public health laboratory. The employee is responsible for the overall quality assurance in CPL. The employee must be skilled in administrative and interpersonal relationships; be able to meet deadlines and handle pressure be able to communicate with other health professionals. The employee must have demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to apply concepts of quality management. Good organizational skills, patience, resourcefulness, and meticulous attention to details are important attributes for this position.
