    Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Estimator will be responsible for the generation of accurate and timely cost estimates for assigned projects within our Telecommunications/Utilities department .

    The Estimator will deliver properly organized estimates, budgets, and schedules, while managing Aecon's risk. The Estimator will also be responsible for tracking project financial performance upon award.
    Responsible for the overall financial performance of projects awarded.
    Reviewing project site prior to price preparation.
    Oversees the distribution of appropriate documentation appropriately upon award of project.
    Stationed on major project as required.

    Tracks, forecasts, and reports weekly on the financial and operational performance of awarded projects and provides data for month-end reconciliations.

    Maintains files and correspondence on active and completed projects.
    Provide technical support to field staff.
    Collaborates with Operations to drive project success and learning.
    Performs Post Bid / Post Project Analysis completion and that associated learning and communication takes place.
    Assists with RFP's and General Contract tender submissions.
    Incorporates / complies with Aecon's risk management policies and procedures.
    Drives positive relationships and serves as key contact with Clients, Consultants, and key subcontractors.
    Maintains Estimating data systems to ensure they are kept up to date.
    Assists in the training of new Estimating staff as appropriate.
    Collects data and reports on established business Key Performance Indicators.
    Diploma / Degree – Civil / Construction / Mechanical / Electrical / Business.
    Prior Estimating / Operational experience in Telecommunications considered an asset.
    Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents.
    Thorough knowledge of contract language / Terms and Conditions / Bonding etc.
    Good knowledge of job cost fundamentals and basic accounting / reporting principles an asset.
    Strong computer skills – MS Excel / Word / Project, P6, TILOS and estimating software.
    Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
    Ability to be stationed on major remote projects during construction.
    Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
