    Special Projects Assistant - Solid Waste Services

    ABOUT THE ROLE
    The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is seeking four (4) temporary full-Time Special Projects Assistants in Solid Waste Services.


    Reporting to the Manager, Solid Waste Services, the successful candidates will be responsible for assisting team members in their duties, as required, to meet service expectations, grant funded activities, departmental goals and objectives.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Qualifications include two years in an undergraduate or college program in environmental practice, environmental protection, political science, public administration, business administration or a related local government program or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


    Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write correspondence, research and prepare reports along with the capability to make effective presentations to a variety of audiences.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to positively contribute to a team environment are essential for this position.


    POSITION DETAILS

    These are temporary full-time (35 hours per week) Union Positions starting as soon as possible through to July 31, 2024.

    The rate of pay is $29.60 to $31.16 per hour, plus 12.4% in lieu of benefits including vacation and statutory holidays.
