    Job Summary: Reportingto the Deputy Provost, the Manager of the Student Learning Centre (CLC) leads ateam, as well as collaborating with other units, that support students in theiracademic development.

    Nature of work:
    Thesuccessful candidate will lead thedevelopment and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for student academicdevelopment and support. They incumbent will also be responsible for the designand implementation of programs and services within the Student Learning Centre(SLC), and collaboration with campus-wide with Faculties and other units.

    Responsibilities/accountabilities:

  • Strong program management and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide effective guidance and mentorship while setting clear expectations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with effectively University personnel
  • Comprehensive understanding of student learning experiences, science of learning, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, and sound pedagogical principles
  • An understanding of evidence-informed best practices in teaching and the use of technology to enhance learning.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams.
  • Strong commitment to student success and learner support

    • Required Education:

  • MinimumMaster's degree or equivalent is required; Doctorate in a related discipline preferred

    • Verification of Academic credentials may be required

    Required Experience:

  • Five to seven years of related experience, including people leadership, in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience in program development and assessment/evaluation strategies; experienced in executing strategic priorities
  • Experience working with university personnel, including but not limited to faculty/instructors, Deans, and other university administrators
  • Post-secondary teaching experience
