Description

The Production Supervisor assumes responsibility for directing, supervising, and harmonizing all operational activities within their assigned shift. Through their leadership, the team operates with precision, achieving productivity and contributing to the overall success of the operation.

This position is on the Weekend Shift - Friday to Sunday (12 hour shifts).

Key Responsibilities:

Directs, supervises, and coordinates production employees and operations on their respective shifts.
Ensures all employees are adhering to Element5's safety policies, manufacturing procedures, and workplace policies.
Champion product quality, workmanship, methods, and processes to meet internal and customer requirements.
Help develop the organization's processes and ensure they remain legally compliant.
Assist in managing budgets and forecasts.
Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.
Takes action on non-value-added cost or quality issues that may arise during production activities.
Recognizes and reacts to equipment issues with maintenance staff.
Provide input to management to facilitate effective cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling, or other continuous improvement measures.
Authorizes employee timecards using the Time and Attendance system to ensure all employees are properly paid for hours worked.
Addresses employee performance issues and corresponds with Human Resources when necessary.
Ensures all employees are properly trained and competent to perform in their roles and addresses any employee deficiencies with Human Resources.
Coordinates quality efforts and achieves quality standards.
Champions 5S and housekeeping programs.
Complete regular reports as required.
Participate and/or lead special assignments when necessary.
Attends daily production meetings and reports on the status of equipment, personnel, and shift activities.
Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience in the wood/building product industry is considered an asset.
Technical aptitude is a definite asset.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong ability to lead, coach, and drive a team to succeed.
Great problem-solving skills.
Integrity and leading by example.
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Education and Experience:

2-3+ years of supervisory experience.
Knowledgeable of quality and compliance standards.
Experience working with an ERP system.
Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
