    Description

    Our client is a leading exploration and development mining company, focused on battery metals that are increasingly in-demand to power the global clean-energy transition. They are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their growing finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, managing and overseeing all accounting and administrative operations.

    The successful candidate will be based in the Greater Toronto Area or be willing to relocate within 4 months of their start date.

    What you'll do:

    • Manage and oversee all accounting and administrative operations, including quarterly and annual financial reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, inventory/cost accounting, revenue recognition and other related tasks.
    • Facilitate an efficient audit process through liaising with auditors and ensuring adequate backup is maintained for all financial data.
    • Make recommendations for improvements, working with the CEO, CFO and the operations team concerning interpretation and analysis of budget variances, production forecasts, etc.
    • Responsible for the development and implementation of sound financial policies and internal controls to minimize financial reporting risk and fraud.
    • Assist with the selection, implementation, and monitoring of an effective ERP system as the Company expands its operations.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including management, customers and vendors.

    What you bring:

    • A university degree (preferably business or commerce).
    • Fluent in English and Spanish is a must.
    • An accounting (CPA) designation.
    • A minimum of 10 years of relevant, progressive experience.
    • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles (including IFRS).
    • Experience in financial reporting, as well as system and process implementations.
    • Excellent attention to detail, strong communication, interpersonal, organisation and time management skills.
    • Highly developed MS Office skills, including advanced Excel skills.
