    Our Public Sector client, a Crown Corporation with an office in Victoria, BC is seeking a full-time, permanent Director, Strategic Business Planning to join their growing team This is a hybrid opportunity requiring 2x/week in the Victoria office. Our client may be able to offer compensation for candidates relocating to BC.

    The Director, Strategic Business Planning supports the Finance division, and is a pivotal role responsible for guiding the organization's strategic direction and ensuring effective business planning, performance monitoring, and risk management. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Finance and collaborates closely with various leadership teams and stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and support the Senior Leadership Team, Executive, and Board of Directors in developing and implementing a multi-year integrated corporate business plan.
    • Monitor results and outcomes of the organization's initiatives, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) and risk mitigation strategies are in place.
    • Develop and oversee planning and risk management policies, procedures, and controls.
    • Provide direct people-leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, emphasizing communication, facilitation, and collaboration.

    Qualifications:

    • 10+ years related experience in strategic and business planning, reporting, and corporate performance management leadership roles ideally within large, complex organizations.
    • 5+ years of experience leading teams (direct and indirect reports), including performance management and goal setting, preferably in a public sector or unionized environment.
    • University degree in business, finance, management, or equivalent.
    • Master's degree in business administration, public administration, or equivalent (asset).
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with experience in preparing reports.
    • Excellent collaboration, business partnering, and facilitation skills for fostering positive working relationships.
