    Job Title : Director of Operations

    Status : Full Time, permanent

    Location: Ontario GTA and Southern Ontario

    Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

    Job Overview:

    The Director of Operations is directly responsible for growing the business in line with targets and managing the P&L in their location. This position will oversee and supervise the service deliveries by Operations Managers / Supervisors and independent service providers and simultaneously support the business by providing a roadmap and business strategy to ensure both profitability and performance.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to maintain the highest standard of safety, service and performance of employees and subcontractors.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and key personnel within customer companies and deals with escalated concerns and complaints.
  • Act as Account Director for a major local or National client including being key liaison for the client; analyzing and reporting on SLAs / KPIs and service delivery trends within the account through monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews; coordinate and support the management of service delivery across the client portfolio; and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement throughout the lifecycle of the contract.
  • Establish effective communication channel to ensure seamless flow of communication between clients, management and respective supervisors and team members.
  • Defines the short-term and long-term business plans for development activities.
  • Conducting business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied with their products and services.
  • Developing and/or implementing corporate guidelines regarding work processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Periodically tour sites to evaluate and direct appropriate corrective measures to address any deficiencies.
  • Coordinate with clients, management and respective supervisors to ensure timely completion of scheduled tasks.
  • Conduct research and analysis to determine operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, and operating cost containment.
  • Develop effective coaching strategies to increase productivity and performance.
  • Manage budget, supplies and assets for the assigned areas.
  • Ensure quality assurance requirements are being followed and implement innovative ideas for process improvement.
  • Ensure subcontractors understand the nature and scope of the work, the contract, and can uphold the standards expected by client and the company.
  • Negotiate monthly contract rates with subcontractors in alignment with corporate guidelines.
  • Accountability and Deliverable:

    Position carries significant accountability and confidentiality. Employee is expected to handle all company information on a strictly confidential basis. Position should accurately and effectively monitor the quality assurance aspect of the service performance delivery and regularly report any and all client concerns pertaining to specific assigned portfolio.

    Working Conditions:

    The Director of Operations will require flexibility in shift times, as interaction with night cleaning crews will also be required. Must be willing to work overnight shift (11 pm 7 am) on a regular basis.

    Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on business operations experience in a challenging and demanding work environment.
  • Must possess operational knowledge of related industry.
  • Preferably previous operations management experience within the building maintenance industry.
  • Experience conducting quality assurance audits.
  • Excellent leadership and relationship management skills.
  • A reliable team-player with strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to visit sites/teams.
