    Role

    We're seeking an exceptional Lead Designer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products and brand.

    As the Lead Designer, you'll work closely with our product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to craft interfaces and experiences that translate complex data into intuitive and engaging interfaces that marketers use everyday. You will also have a key role indefining and evolving our brand so that Switch projects a cohesive and consistent experience across all products and client-facing touchpoints.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to design and implement new features and products
    • Work collaboratively with our clients and end users to inform design decisions
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into compelling user experiences
    • Advocate for user-centered design principles and ensure a cohesive, consistent experience across all products
    • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for new features and product iterations
    • Develop and maintain design systems and style guides
    • Ensure that designs are consistent with the company's brand and visual identity
    • Be the voice of design at an exciting company that is focused on pushing privacy-focused and consent centric thinking in the ad industry

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience in product design
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating your design process, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
    • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma
    • Excellent visual design skills with a strong understanding of typography, layout, and colour theory
    • Ability to think critically, analyse data, and make informed design decisions
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Nice to haves

    • Experience growing and scaling a web platform, B2B/SaaS preferred
    • Experience in a fast growing startup and comfort with that pace
    • Experience hiring and managing other designers

    Location

    • Switch is located in Toronto, Canada, but operates fully remotely
    • Remote candidates are welcome to apply
    • Preference will be shown to candidates that can be regularly (once or twice a month, typically) available in-person in Toronto to collaborate with the leadership team
    • Initial interview: A 30-45 minute chat with our CTO. We'll share more about the role, our expectations, your history and experience, and go over any questions you may have.
    • Design exercise: We aren't big believers in the traditional interview structure. You got here by knowing your craft. We will present a component or feature in our existing app and ask that you reimagine it. Present your design and convince us why it's great.
    • Interview with CEO/CFO: This is the candidate's chance to meet the rest of the leadership team at Switch and learn about the company from a business and growth perspective. We are growing very fast
    • Optional: Meet with one of our industry advisors to learn more about our industry and trajectory.
    • Offer: We'll make you an offer and you can decide if you want to join us.
