    The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the regulatory body responsible for overseeing Ontario's capital markets as outlined in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. The OSC aims to protect investors, promote fair and competitive markets, encourage capital formation, and enhance the stability of the financial system. In addition, the OSC plays a role in shaping national and global securities regulations.

As part of this initiative, we have reorganized our structure and are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team.     THE POSITION

    The VP Office of Economic Growth and Innovation is a seasoned leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, essential for driving the OSC's efforts towards fostering economic growth and innovation in Ontario's capital markets.

    The VP is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing programs and processes that aim to facilitate economic growth and innovation by engaging with various stakeholders involved in capital raising for businesses in Ontario. This includes supporting businesses at different stages of growth and promoting innovation to create robust capital markets.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Monitor capital formation trends to identify opportunities supporting economic growth and innovation.
    • Implement pilot programs to explore new capital formation methods.
    • Create a test environment for innovative financial products and services.
    • Offer support to businesses in pilot programs to foster learning and growth.
    • Identify and recommend enhancements to OSC processes for economic growth.
    • Collaborate with external stakeholders for research projects.
    • Lead outreach initiatives to promote innovation and capital formation.
    • Engage with global regulatory organizations to stay updated on innovation initiatives.
    • Facilitate discussions to champion innovation within the industry.
    • Manage a team effectively to drive success and development.
    • Collaborate with other OSC teams and regulatory partners on common projects.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Executive-level experience in building enterprises.
    • Expertise in capital raising and investing models.
    • Proven leadership in public communication and stakeholder management.
    • Demonstrated success in policy development and regulatory initiatives.
    • Advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
