    Job Description

    Department: Finance – Corporate Billing & Accounts Receivable & Registration
    Reports to: Manager
    Grade: A0:06
    Hours: 37.5 per week
    Salary: $24.10 to $30.12 / hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
    Status: Temporary Part-Time
    Closing Date: May 6, 2024

    UHN Corporate Billing & Accounts Receivable & Registration (CBARR) is a high-volume, fast-paced department responsible for revenue through billing and collection. TheClerical Assistant IV plays a key role in supporting the management of patient billings and collection contributing to revenue and cash flow maximization.

    Duties
    • Ensure Accurate and Timely Billing
    • Liaise with insurers, patient, support workers, and clinical team in a professional manner
    • Work closely with a variety of different stakeholders in order to assure the timely reception and submissions of billing files
    • Review the accuracy of patient data including chart review prior to billing
    • Timely invoice submission
    • Ensure Timely Collection
    • Maintain healthy aging portfolio by following up persistently on overdue accounts
    • Review Payment Summary
    • Investigate rejection timely to rebill or appeal as appropriate to minimize write-off
    • Perform cross-functional duties consistent with the job classification, as required

    Qualifications

    • Completion of a Business Administration or Accounting diploma required OR equivalent relevant experience
    • Minimum of 1 year working in a healthcare environment
    • Ability to discuss Financial coverage with patients and/or family members
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced time sensitive environment with minimal direction
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and satisfaction
    • Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions and to meet tight deadlines
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
    • Working knowledge in hospital admission and registration process preferred
    • Epic system experience preferred
