    Description

    Our customer is looking for a Procurement Consultant to join their team for a 12-month contract. The position involves working in the office located in downtown Toronto core two days a week.



    Responsibilities:
    - Develop and implement procurement strategies for various categories in line with the organization's policies and regulations.
    - Act as a procurement consultant for internal departments, offering advice on strategies, particularly for unique and challenging procurements.
    - Lead negotiations and manage contract finalization and administration.
    - Cultivate strong relationships with business clients and vendors, overseeing vendor relations and monitoring existing contracts.
    - Contribute to enhancing procurement processes and system efficiencies, with experience in "Negotiated RFPs" within Canadian and African contexts.
    - Assist the finance team and Procurement and Administration Services with administrative tasks such as insurance requests and purchasing card program administration.
    - Proficient in problem-solving, prioritization, and managing multiple projects with keen attention to detail.
    - Supervise incoming and outgoing shipping operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and efficient goods handling.



    Requirements:
    - A minimum of 10 years of procurement experience, preferably in organizations with international operations.
    - Experience in the public or private sector, particularly in significant capital projects.
    - Hold a degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field emphasizing strategic sourcing and procurement.
    - Thorough understanding of procurement laws, trade agreements, contract administration, and financial processes.
    - Certification in supply chain, procurement, or project management is advantageous.
    - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
    - Quick comprehension of business challenges, offering practical advice on complex procurement issues.
    - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
    - Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
    - Efficient in fast-paced and high-pressure environments, with a team player mindset and willingness to contribute.
    - Proficiency in software, particularly Excel and MS Office 365, and familiarity with extensive financial systems.
