    In accordance with our organizational commitment to provide the Best Care for All, the Organizational Development Team, within the Human Resources Portfolio, provides support to teams and leaders in the organization which is essential to achieving HHS' strategic and operational objectives. The OD team is responsible for providing expertise and guidance throughout the organization in the areas of leading change, leadership development, team development, learning and development, and coaching. The involvement of OD in corporate and team initiatives contributes to the ability of the organization to deliver results and increase the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability and sustainability of HHS activities. Supported by evidenced-based tools and methodologies, Organizational Development exists to champion and foster a culture of respect, equity, and inclusion that enables people and teams at HHS to be their best in service of our patients and their families.

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Director of Culture and People Development, the Manager, Organizational Development manages and oversees the design and delivery of Organizational Development (OD) programs. The manager leads a team of talented Organizational Development practitioners, including Specialist, Associate and Coordinator roles, to build organizational capacity and improve individual, team and organizational effectiveness in support of Hamilton Health Sciences' mission and vision.
    The Manager, Organizational Development plays a key role on the Human Resources team by providing content expertise and consultation in the areas of change management and transition, coaching, team development and leadership development. The role also oversees the design, development and provision of related educational programs for the organization through the 'Center for People Development' and other forums. Other significant projects include programs such as engagement, performance management, succession planning and recognition.
    This role is responsible for applying best practice methodologies and creating customized organizational development solutions to support the success and adoption of complex, organization-wide and highly integrated change initiatives and transformational projects.

    Schedule Work Hours

    Days, Monday to Friday with willingness to be flexible with working hours to suit operational requirements. 37.5 hours per week.

    Qualifications
  • University Degree in Business, Public Administration, Organizational Development, Psychology, Human Resources Management, or a related field or a relevant post-degree designation, Master's degree will be considered an asset.
    2. 10 or more years of experience in Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field.
    3. Leadership and managerial experience, including leading a team of senior consultant roles, will be considered an asset.
    4. Experience in the design and delivery of Organizational Development systems and processes in a complex union and non-union environment; experience within healthcare will be considered an asset.
    5. Highly developed understanding of methodologies and approaches for: leadership development, organizational change, individual and team performance, learning and development, employee engagement, organization design, coaching, diversity, and conflict management.
    6. Knowledge of OD practices and frameworks.
    7. Project Management knowledge and skills.
    8. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills for negotiating scenarios, conflict resolution and consensus building.
    9. Highly creative to develop and implement organizational programs.
    10. Ability to analyze processes, enact change and think operationally and strategically to achieve goals.
    11. Highly skilled at coaching, facilitating and presenting skills.
    12. Superior logical writing and verbal communication skills, including ability to synthesize and convey complex ideas in story-lined presentations at all levels of the organization, including executive level.
    13. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative, environment; ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
    14. Ability to effectively coordinate multiple responsibilities simultaneously, with fast, flexible, cooperative work style; ability to reprioritize as warranted.
    15. Strong working knowledge of change management and complex initiative management processes.
    16. High degree of adaptability and adept at dealing with ambiguity in an unstructured environment.
    17. Ability to lead change.
    18. Ability to navigate socio-political environment.
    19. Ability to manage competing demands and priorities.
    20. Ability to deliver services both virtually and in-person to team at various Hamilton Health Sciences sites.
