    Job Description

    The Accounts Payable department is looking for someone who is an expert in handling merchandise return claims from suppliers to obtain credits and carry out claim/credit reconciliations at a superior level.

    Tasks:

    • Receive merchandise return claims (debit memo/RMF) from suppliers,
    • Ensure all documentation related to the return claim is available,
    • Record claims in the master claim file,
    • Contact suppliers to ensure collection of all owed credits,
    • Reconcile any discrepancies between received credits and claimed amounts,
    • Create copies of credits from the weekly store Visa report,
    • Perform monthly GP adjustments,
    • Resolve complex discrepancies in claim/credit reconciliations (consult operations managers/DC to escalate issues),
    • Classify RPT207 Returns/credit Reconciliation, Excel proficiency required,
    • Prepare for store Inventory cut-offs including collections blitz before inventory, ensure all store sequence claims are available and assist Specialized Inventory Clerk in completing the file,

    Qualifications

    To be part of our team, you should have:

    • AEC, DEP or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume environment (collections, credits, accounts payable experience),
    • Proficiency in written and oral bilingual communication,
    • Understanding of accounting concepts and principles,
    • Problem-solving skills within defined parameters,
    • Proficient in computer systems and Microsoft Office applications with intermediate Excel skills,
