    Dining Hall Coordinators

    Wanted: Dining Hall Supervisors

    Are you interested in spending your summer on a lake in Algonquin Park? Do you have a passion for the outdoors and working around young people? If so, then you should come be a part of the Taylor Statten Camps staff team

    The Taylor Statten Camps are Canada's oldest fourth generational family-run traditional summer camp. We are located on Canoe Lake in Algonquin Provincial Park. The camp is made up of Camp Wapomeo for Girls and Camp Ahmek for Boys. Our camper's age varies from 6 – 16.

    Camp: Ahmek & Wapomeo

    We are currently seeking two (2) Dining Hall Supervisors, one (1) for each camp.

    Job description:

    The Dining Hall Supervisor will control the back kitchen making sure that while campers and staff are back there picking up their food, organization is maintained. The Supervisor oversees the Dishwashers and is responsible for cleaning and supervising the cleaning of the entire Dining Hall and Dishroom. They do not get involved with the actual Kitchen. They will also be responsible for making sure the CITs, who set and clear the tables are reporting for duty on time, and that each assigned job is completed properly.

    The Dining Hall supervisor checks with the Kitchen to ensure the total dining hall table numbers are correct for the number of people in camp and the number of meals the kitchen has planned.

    Example of Kitchen Duties:

  • General cleaning of Dish-room, Back Kitchen, and Dining Hall. This includes a thorough cleaning of all surfaces (serving trays, counter tops, shelves, etc.)
  • Management of food waste buckets/compost bags.
  • Equipment/utensil stock count/organizing.
  • Dining Hall tables set correctly for each meal.
  • Placing orders for cleaning supplies and plates/cutlery through the camp office.
  • Ringing the meal bells on time for each meal.
  • Make sure that the orders from the kitchen are picked up in a timely manner.
  • Assisting and Managing the Dish-room/Dishwashers.

    • Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • Emergency First Aid or Equivalent and CPR "B"- this can be done AT CAMP

    • Compensation varies depending on experience. All positions include FREE room, board, laundry and use of facilities.
